Overlooking the tranquil waters of Lake Como, Domus Plinii was established in 1792 as an elegant residence and a welcoming refuge for travelers of the time. The original building comprised the main structure—then known as Albergo Plinio—and a separate unit designated for carriage storage, all enclosed by an Italian garden that already spoke of beauty and serenity.
In the 1980s, renowned Milanese architect Caccia Dominioni carried out a meticulous restoration, bringing harmony back to the historic façades and enhancing architectural details such as the stone balconies and the original entrance.
In 2018, a new aesthetic vision shaped the Domus Plinii we know today. A team of Milanese architects—guided by a prominent figure from the fashion world—reimagined the 12 suites, giving them a refined identity: optical-style wallpapers, vintage furnishings, and atmospheres inspired by the charm of the 1950s and ’60s. Every detail is chosen to tell a story, evoke emotion, and welcome guests with intimate, enveloping elegance.
The property now features 12 suites, a lounge bar, an infinity pool, and an expansive enclosed park of over 1,000 m². The garden, with its centuries-old trees, geometric lines, and stone pathways, offers a sense of intimacy and wonder—a place where time seems to slow down, inviting you to breathe, observe, and be enchanted.
Domus Plinii is not merely a resort: it is an experience of the soul. It is a place where history meets the delicacy of everyday moments, where the lake reflects emotions and memories, and where every guest can rediscover a part of themselves.
We cultivate a discreet, attentive, and familiar approach to hospitality, with the aim of making you feel welcomed as if at home—at home in a place infused with elegance, beauty, and tranquility.
